I’m Taylor Banks, a dark fantasy and action/adventure writer. I earned my MFA from the New Writer’s Project at UT Austin in 2019, and my writing tends to take one of two directions: exploring the forgotten history of marginalized communities or building vast, ultra-detailed secondary worlds that offer pure escapism. My debut middle grade novel Billions to Burn released May of 2025, and my adult dark fantasy novel Dreadsong releases January 2027.

I live in Virginia with my husband and my three rescue cats.

When I’m not writing, you’ll find me playing pickleball, reading in my catio, failing to recreate desserts from The Great British Baking Show. I love talking craft and gushing over my never-ending list of favorite books, so feel free to reach out to me!
