I’m Taylor Banks, a dark fantasy and action/adventure writer with an obsession with storytelling and world-building. I earned my MFA from The New Writers Project at the University of Texas at Austin in 2019, and my writing tends to take one of two directions: exploring the forgotten history of marginalized communities or building vast, ultra-detailed secondary worlds that offer pure escapism. My debut middle grade novel Billions to Burn releases May of 2025.

I live in Virginia with my husband, an AI analyst and my three rescue cats: Fireheart, Brady and Moe.

When I’m not writing, you’ll probably find me reading in my catio, playing pickleball, or trying to figure out how to enter the bronze age in a survival video game. I love talking craft and gushing over my neverending list of favorite books, so feel free to reach out to me!
